A small volcanic adventure

Follow the trail toward a natural volcanic amphitheater, with sculpted walls and an entirely different feel from Flagstaff’s pine forests. This is one of the outdoor stops in Dan’s local guide.

The approach includes a short ladder near the amphitheater. Consider that obstacle when planning with children or dogs.

Signature outing · Full day

Dan’s Grand Canyon loop

A bigger day that connects Sunset Crater, Wupatki, Cameron and the Grand Canyon’s eastern entrance. Dan’s pick for a canyon day with more of Northern Arizona along the way.

Make an early start, choose your stops, and check park access and road conditions.
